The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) employs more than 150 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in small and medium-sized communities across Vancouver Island.

Our dedicated staff delivers a wide range of services to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, including health care, educational support, child and family services, community news reporting…and much more.

Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Nurse

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Department is seeking a part-time Nurse to serve as our weekend-duty Aboriginal Liaison Nurse. This specialized position will assist Indigenous patients with their hospitalization. The Aboriginal Liaison Nurse will contribute to the delivery of culturally safe care for Indigenous patients and their families through their interaction with physicians and admission/discharge planners. This position is based out of the Port Alberni West Coast General Hospital and will work in collaboration with NTC Nursing to ensure quality health care services to all Aboriginal patients.

Pandemic Response Project Nurse

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a term (to March 31, 2022), full or part time Pandemic Response Project Nurse to provide Pandemic Response Nursing services to individuals in a variety of community-based settings in NTC’s territory, and available for other First Nation communities on Vancouver Island if required. The position is based out of Tofino (must be willing to reside in the area). Travel (vehicle, boat, and airplane) is required for this position.

Casual Nurses (Various Regions)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Program is seeking Casual Nurses for various regions (Port Alberni area, Gold River area and Tofino area). Casual assignments could be short 1-day assignments, project-based assignments (days or weeks in duration), back-fill assignments and may be full or partial days. Travel (vehicle, boat, and airplane) to remote communities may be required for these assignments.

Community Health Worker (SR)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking two permanent, full-time Community Health Workers to deliver professional, ethical and culturally sensitive personal care to First Nation clients. Based out of Port Alberni, the Community Health Worker supports client independence in the home setting, including assistance with activities of daily living and delegated tasks as directed and in accordance with established care plans.
