The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) employs more than 150 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in small and medium-sized communities across Vancouver Island.

Our dedicated staff delivers a wide range of services to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, including health care, educational support, child and family services, community news reporting…and much more.

Our employees work and travel in some of the most beautiful areas of the West Coast, including Tofino, Ucluelet, Port Alberni, Zeballos, Gold River, and Hot Springs Cove; as well as historical First Nations communities that only a select few are lucky enough to have a chance to visit in a lifetime.

Administrative Assistant- Community Health Services (Term)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Program is seeking a reliable, highly motivated term (to March 31, 2027), full-time Administrative Assistant. This position performs a variety of complex administrative duties. Based out of Port Alberni, the Administrative Assistant is under the general supervision of the Manager of Community Health Services and works closely with all the staff within the Nursing program and other program staff.

Diabetes Leader (Term)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Services program is seeking a Full time, term Registered Nurse OR Registered Dietician to serve as the Diabetes Leader. Based out of Port Alberni, this full-time 2-year term position will provide culturally safe diabetes education, consultation and liaison to clients, caregivers, family members and other service providers for Nuu-chah-nulth members. This position requires travel to remote communities and different Regions within Nuu-chah-nulth territories along the coast of Vancouver Island. Social Worker (Guardianship)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Service (Usma FCS) is seeking an experienced, delegated Guardianship Social Worker. Based out of the Port Alberni Usma FCS office, this position is permanent, full-time and will have full C- 4 guardianship caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane) is required for this position depending on the caseload. In this position you will act as a legal guardian, support youth in accessing post-majority supports and build relationships with family and community to be part of a circle of support for Nuu-chah-nulth children and youth.

Teechuktl Regional Coordinator

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a Permanent, full-time Teechuktl (mental health) Regional Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating mental health services to remote communities within the region. Based out of Port Alberni or Tofino, the Teechuktl Regional Coordinator will supervise Teechuktl staff, and work closely with other departments and community staff to provide supportive services. This position requires travel to remote communities to different Regions within Nuu-chah-nulth territories along the coast of Vancouver Island. PES - NETP Case Manager

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a permanent, full-time Pre-Employment & NETP Case Manager to provide coordinated, holistic, and culturally responsive employment and pre-employment support to Indigenous clients and their families. This combined position delivers services under the Nuu-chah-nulth Employment and Training Program (NETP) and Pre-Employment Supports (PES) funding streams. Based primarily in Port Alberni, the Case Manager provides regular in-person and remote service coverage to participating Nuu-chah-nulth communities in the Central Region. The position reports to the NETP Manager and works closely with the Manager of Social Development and the integrated Social Development case-management team.

C6 Social Worker (Child Protection)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services is seeking three (3) experienced, C6 delegated Social Workers to fill permanent, full-time positions. Based out of Port Alberni and Campbell River, BC, these positions will have full C6 caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma Nuu-chah-nulth Family and Child Services works on the traditional and unceded territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with community to develop appropriate responses to child safety concerns and build upon community support services.

Community Health- Home Care Nurse Northern Region

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a permanent, full time Registered Nurse to provide a full continuum of Community Health and Home Care Nursing services to individuals in a variety of community based settings in NTC’s Northern Region territory. Our Nursing services follow the Nuu-chah-nulth Nursing framework that ensures culturally safe, relational, reflective and trauma informed Nursing Practice. This position is based out of Campbell River (NTC Northern Region Office). Travel to remote communities (Mowachaht-Muchalaht First Nations two days a week and Zeballos two days a week) with an overnight stay in community is required. Travel is by vehicle (Logging gravel road), helicopter, floatplane and boat. This position operates on 4 days a week (Mondays through Thursdays) schedule. Daily scheduled hours are 9.75, inclusive of a one-hour meal break.
