The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) employs more than 150 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in small and medium-sized communities across Vancouver Island.

Our dedicated staff delivers a wide range of services to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, including health care, educational support, child and family services, community news reporting…and much more.

Our employees work and travel in some of the most beautiful areas of the West Coast, including Tofino, Ucluelet, Port Alberni, Zeballos, Gold River, and Hot Springs Cove; as well as historical First Nations communities that only a select few are lucky enough to have a chance to visit in a lifetime.

Guardianship Social Worker

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Service (Usma FCS) is seeking an experienced, delegated Guardianship Social Worker. Based out of the Port Alberni Usma FCS office, this position is permanent, full-time and will have full C- 4 guardianship caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane) is required for this position depending on the caseload. In this position you will act as a legal guardian, support youth in connecting with postmajority support and build relationships with family and community to be part of a circle of support for Nuu-chah-nulth children and youth.

Clinical Nurse Leader- Southern Region

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a permanent, full-time Clinical Nurse Leader to provide professional nursing guidance and support to Nurses. Based in Port Alberni or Tofino, this position will support and guide nurses to deliver professional, ethical, culturally safe, team based, and responsible care based on the Nuu-chah-nulth Nursing framework. Teechuktl Regional Coordinator

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a Permanent, full-time Teechuktl (mental health) Regional Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating mental health services to remote communities within the region. Based out of Port Alberni or Tofino, the Teechuktl Regional Coordinator will supervise Teechuktl staff, and work closely with other departments and community staff to provide supportive services. This position requires travel to remote communities to different Regions within Nuu-chah-nulth territories along the coast of Vancouver Island. INTERIM DIRECTOR OF HEALTH

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and experienced leader to serve as Interim Director of Health for a term of six to twelve months.
Based in Port Alberni, this position requires a strong combination of financial management expertise, funding agreement fluency, and demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams through an ethical, collaborative, and communicative leadership approach.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Interim Director of Health is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the NTC Health Department, including oversight of approximately 75 employees located across multiple sites throughout Vancouver Island.

Diabetes Leader (Term)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Services program is seeking a Full time, term Registered Nurse OR Registered Dietician to serve as the Diabetes Leader. Based out of Port Alberni, this full-time 2-year term position will provide culturally safe diabetes education, consultation and liaison to clients, caregivers, family members and other service providers for Nuu-chah-nulth members. The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Department is seeking a highly skilled nurse to work as Nurse Navigator. This position will provide advanced level of expertise in leading and guiding clients through the hospital care system and ensuring timely services and safe transition through all procedural stages. C6 Social Worker (Child Protection)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services is seeking three (3) experienced, C6 delegated Social Workers to fill permanent, full-time positions. Based out of Port Alberni and Campbell River, BC, these positions will have full C6 caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma Nuu-chah-nulth Family and Child Services works on the traditional and unceded territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with community to develop appropriate responses to child safety concerns and build upon community support services.
