The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) employs more than 150 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in small and medium-sized communities across Vancouver Island.

Our dedicated staff delivers a wide range of services to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, including health care, educational support, child and family services, community news reporting…and much more.

Case Manager

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a permanent, full-time Case Manager to work in the Nuu-chah-nulth Employment and Training Program (NETP). Based out of the Port Alberni office. The Case Manager is directly involved in the process of employment case management and supporting individuals with achieving their employment and training goals. This position would suit an individual who is looking for a rewarding career and who has passion to help others achieve new goals and opportunities.

Quu’asa Wellness Worker — Gold River & Area

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council/Teechuktl (Mental Health Program) is seeking a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE, 28 hours per week) Quu’asa Wellness Worker to provide culturally based support to Northern Region individuals, families, and communities. Based out of the NTC Gold River office this unique position would be best suited for someone who has a desire to bring cultural practices into healing with an emphasis of providing support to First Nations people who are at risk or have been involved in high-risk lifestyles. This position requires travel into remote communities (including on gravel road, by boat and airplane).

Bridging Director of Finance

The Bridging Director of Finance will assist in the financial management of all NTC program areas to ensure that finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner and comply with relevant legislation, bylaws, policies, and procedures. This position will also assist the Director of Finance in the coordination of the annual Audit and assist in ensuring that all funds for distribution to the member First Nations are administered on a timely basis and in accordance with funding and program agreements.

ACCOUNTING CLERK

Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family & Child Services (Usma F&CS) is looking for two experienced, detail-oriented, Accounting Clerks to perform a variety of Accounts Payable duties specific to the Usma F&CS operations. Based out of the Usma F&CS office in Port Alberni, this permanent, full-time, position reports to the Usma Office Coordinator.

Family Systems Counsellor - Usma

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Usma Family and Child Services Program is seeking a permanent, full-time Clinical Counsellor based out of Port Alberni, to provide individual counselling and counselling for family or groups with a focus on supporting families using a proactive and preventative approach towards stabilization. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma Nuu-chah-nulth Family and Child Services works on the traditional and unceded territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with community.

Case Manager (Tofino and Area)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Social Development Program is looking for a qualified person to fill a term (to September 30, 2024 – with the possibility of an extension), full-time Pre-Employment Supports Case Manager. This term position is best suited to someone who is skilled at inspiring and supporting clients in their pre-employment readiness and supporting them in reaching their potential through the development of training plans to achieve their employment goals. Based out of either Port Alberni, Tofino, or Ucluelet, the position will provide service and travel into the First Nation communities of Ucluelet, Tla-o-qui-aht, Ahousaht, and Hesquiaht.

Program Coordinator (Term)

Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a term (to September 30, 2024 – with the possibility of an extension), full-time Pre-employment Supports (PES) Coordinator. Along with program coordination activities, the PES Program Coordinator provides case management support to Social Development Workers’ client services. Based out of Port Alberni, this position’s duties are aligned with the NTC’s Education, Training, and Social Development Department.

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services (F&CS) is seeking an experienced, delegated Social Worker to fill a permanent, full-time Out of Care Resource Social Worker position. Based at the Port Alberni Usma F&CS office, this social worker will be part of the Usma Resource Team, and will work collaboratively with other social workers, Nations, and families. This is a C6 Delegation preferred position. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma F&CS works on the traditional and unceded territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with community to develop appropriate responses to child safety concerns and build upon community support services.

Clinical Counsellor (Zeballos)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC), Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a permanent, full-time Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor to provide individual counselling for individuals or families in NTC’s Northern Region (Ehattesaht and Nuchatlaht areas). Based out of Zeballos, this position would best suit someone who can provide counselling services that promotes individual and community wellness through a balance of Quu’asa (First Nation people) values and trauma-based clinical methods. This position requires travel into remote communities (including on gravel road).
