The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) employs more than 150 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in small and medium-sized communities across Vancouver Island.

Our dedicated staff delivers a wide range of services to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, including health care, educational support, child and family services, community news reporting…and much more.

Registered Dietitian

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Nursing Program is seeking a Registered Dietitian for an exciting opportunity to expand and support existing diabetes programming for Nuu-Chah-Nulth members on Vancouver Island. Based out of Port Alberni, this permanent, full-time, position and will include both individual client counseling as well as group teaching sessions.

Nuu-chah-nulth Education Workers (Term)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a Nuu-chah-nulth Education Worker (Term) to work with Indigenous students at Gold River Secondary School level (Gold River). The Nuu-chah-nulth Education Worker supports students at the Grade 8 to 12 level; culturally, achievement and socially, in accordance with the NTC Education Department’s mandate. This term position to provide services while the regular Nuu-chah-nulth Education worker is off and requires working Monday to Friday and 7½ hours per day. The Education Worker is under the general supervision of the NTC Cultural Development Supervisor and under general day-to-day direction of the principal in the school. This Term position is from September 7, 2021 until June 23, 2022.

Nuu-chah-nulth Education Workers (Temp Backfill)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking a Nuu-chah-nulth Education Worker (Temporary Backfill) to work with Indigenous students at Ray Watkins (Gold River). The Nuu-chah-nulth Education Worker supports students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 level; culturally, achievement and socially, in accordance with the NTC Education Department’s mandate. This term position to provide services while the regular Nuu-chah-nulth Education worker is off and requires working Monday to Friday and 7½ hours per day. The Education Worker is under the general supervision of the NTC Cultural Development Supervisor and under general day-to-day direction of the principal in the school. This Term position is from September 7, 2021 until December 3, 2021 (with possible extension).

Receptionist

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s is seeking a reliable, pro-active, attentive Receptionist for the NTC Quu’asa Program. Based out of Port Alberni, this permanent, full-time position serves as the first point of contact to provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone. The Receptionist also provides other front office support to the Quu’asa Program staff such as sorting daily mail, organizing for couriers, directing clients to meeting and performing supportive administrative tasks.

Clinical Counsellor (Gold River and Area)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC), Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a permanent, full-time Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor to provide individual counselling and counselling for individuals or family in NTC’s Northern Region (Gold River and other remote areas). Based out of the NTC’s Gold River office, this position would best suit someone who can provide counselling services that promotes individual and community wellness through a balance of Quu’asa (Residential School Survivor Services) and trauma-based clinical methods.

Clinical Counsellor (West Coast)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a permanent, full-time Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor to provide individual counselling and counselling for family or groups in the west coast of the Nuu-chah-nulth territory. Based out of the NTC’s Tofino office, this position would best suit someone who can work in a team environment to provide counselling services that promotes individual and community wellness through a balance of Quu’asa and clinical methods.

ACCOUNTING CLERK

Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Department is looking for a permanent, full-time, Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of Accounts Payable duties specific to the Usma Family & Child Services (Usma F&CS). Based out of the Usma F&CS office in Port Alberni, this Accounting Clerk 2 position reports to the Usma Office Coordinator.

Casual Administrative Support

The Casual Administrative Support position is part of the Administration Department and will operate the main switchboard, provide reception, and general administrative support to various program staff and provide reservations and general support to multiple departments.

Answer switchboard and greet callers, take messages, screen calls, refer calls and reply to questions in accordance with general instructions and/or, information to and from staff members.

Community Health - Home Care Nurse

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a 0.5 FTE Registered Nurse to provide a full continuum of Community Health/Home Care Nursing services to individuals in a variety of community-based settings in NTC’s Northern Region territory. You will be working in remote communities – one week in and one week out. Our Nursing services follow the Nuu-chah-nulth Nursing framework that ensures culturally safe, relational, reflective and trauma informed Nursing Practice. This part-time position may be based out of the communities of Kyuquot or Zeballos.
