The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) employs more than 150 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in small and medium-sized communities across Vancouver Island.

Our dedicated staff delivers a wide range of services to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, including health care, educational support, child and family services, community news reporting…and much more.

Casual Receptionist

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking an experienced, reliable, pro-active, attentive Receptionist for various programs within NTC’s Department of Health. Based out of Port Alberni, this Casual position serves as the first point of contact to provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone. The Receptionist also provides other front office support such as sorting daily mail, organizing for couriers, directing clients to meetings, and performing supportive administrative tasks.

Resolution Health Support Worker CR

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a term (to March 31, 2026), full-time Resolution Health Support Worker to provide cultural and emotional support to residential school survivors and their families. This position also provides support completing Day Scholar and Indian Day School applications in community, and in urban settings. This position is based out of Tofino, and requires travel (including on gravel road, by boat, float plane and helicopter) into Central Region communities.

Team Assistant (Usma)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services is seeking a reliable,
highly motivated Team Assistant to fill a permanent, full-time position. This position performs a
variety of complex administrative duties utilizing MIS and ICM – two complex government
systems. This position provides program support to child protection, guardianship and resource
teams while also sharing responsibilities with the Office Assistant. Based out of the Usma office
in Port Alberni BC, this position is under the general supervision of the Usma Program Delivery
Assistant.

Resource Social Worker

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services (F&CS) is seeking an experienced,
delegated Social Worker to fill a permanent, full-time Resource Social Worker position. Based at the Port
Alberni Usma F&CS office, this social worker will be part of the Usma Resource Team, and will work
collaboratively with other social workers, Nations, and families. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane,
depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma F&CS works on the traditional and unceded
territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with community to develop
appropriate responses to child safety concerns and build upon community support services.

Clinical Counsellor (Tofino)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC), Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a permanent, full-time Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor to provide individual counselling for individuals or families in NTC’s Central Regions (Tofino). Based out of the NTC’s Tofino office, this position would best suit someone who can provide counselling services that promotes individual and community wellness through a balance of Quu’asa (First Nation people) values and trauma-based clinical methods. This position requires travel into remote communities including on gravel road, by boat, float plane and helicopter.

This position requires travel into Zeballos and Gold River communities including on gravel road, by helicopter, float plane, and boat.

C6 Social Worker (Child Protection)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services is seeking three (3) experienced, C6 delegated Social Workers to fill permanent, full-time positions. Based out of Port Alberni, these positions will have full C6 caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position.
