Guardianship Social Worker

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Service (Usma FCS) is seeking an experienced, delegated Guardianship Social Worker. Based out of the Port Alberni Usma FCS office, this position will have full C- 4 guardianship caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane) is required for this position depending on the caseload. In this position you will act as a legal guardian, support youth in accessing the Agreements with Young Adults program and build relationships with family and community to be part of a circle of support for Nuu-chah-nulth children and youth.

Early Years Outreach Worker

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Child & Youth Department is seeking a permanent full-time Early Years Outreach Worker. This position is a key resource to support families (prenatally, postnatally and with children 0 - 18) in meeting their child’s health, developmental, social, and emotional goals; and strengthening the parent’s confidence and skills in parenting. Based out of Port Alberni, the Early Years Outreach Worker will do home visits with parents to address concerns regarding child development. The position is required to travel into remote Southern Region Nuu-chah-nulth Communities.

Family Wellness Worker

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council Usma Family & Child Services (F&CS) is seeking a qualified person to fill a permanent, full-time Family Wellness Worker position. Based out of the Usma F&CS office in Port Alberni, this position works within the F&CS program to provide culturally sensitive support to children, youth, and families.

Youth Outreach Counsellor

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services program is seeking a

permanent, full-time Youth Outreach Counsellor to provide support to youth who are at risk or may

be at risk of becoming involved in high-risk lifestyles. Based out of Port Alberni and reporting to the

Youth Services Coordinator, this position will be assigned to provide service to the Urban area of

Port Alberni as well as the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with

communities to develop strategies to engage and serve youth better. This position requires travel

into remote communities (including on gravel road, by boat and airplane) and includes regular, evening,

and weekend hours.

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services is seeking an

experienced, C6 delegated Social Worker to fill a permanent, full-time position. Based out of

Port Alberni, this position will have full C6 caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and

airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma Nuu-chah-nulth Family and

Child Services works on the traditional and unceded territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth

Nations, supporting and collaborating with community to develop appropriate responses to

child safety concerns and build upon community support services.

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC), Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a permanent,

full-time Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor to provide individual counselling for individuals or families in

NTC’s Northern Region (Gold River). Based out of the NTC’s Gold River office, this position would best

suit someone who can provide counselling services that promotes individual and community wellness

through a balance of Quu’asa (First Nation people) values and trauma-based clinical methods. This

position requires travel into remote communities (including on gravel road).

Harm Reduction Outreach Worker (2 Positions)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking two permanent, full-time Harm Reduction Outreach Workers to provide culturally based support to Nuu-chah-nulth Central Region individuals, families, and communities, with an emphasis of providing support to First Nations people involved in high-risk lifestyles. Based out of Port Alberni this position will communicate with various service providers and coordinate activities to support wellness and healing within a culturally safe framework. This position will work evenings and weekends and provide outreach support to Nuu-chah-nulth clients away from home as well as in community.

Resource Social Worker (Out of Care)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services (F&CS) is seeking an experienced, delegated Social Worker to fill a permanent, full-time Out of Care Resource Social Worker position. Based at the Port Alberni Usma F&CS office, this social worker will be part of the Usma Resource Team, and will work collaboratively with other social workers, Nations, and families. Receptionist

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s is seeking a reliable, pro-active, attentive Receptionist for NTC’s Child and Youth Services. Based out of Port Alberni, this permanent, full-time position serves as the first point of contact to provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone. The Receptionist also provides other front office support such as sorting daily mail, organizing for couriers, directing clients to meeting and performing supportive administrative tasks.

Program Delivery Assistant

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Usma Family & Child Services (Usma) is seeking a full-time Program Delivery Assistant. Based out of the Port Alberni office, the Program Delivery Assistant provides operational and administrative assistance to the program leader, performs a variety of administrative, coordination and logistical services in support of the Usma programs, and provides effective and efficient support to the program teams to ensure smooth program delivery.

Health Benefits Coordinator

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a permanent, full-time, Health Benefits Coordinator to oversee the NTC Health Benefits Program. This NTC program helps eligible Nuu-chah-nulth members with coverage for a range of health benefits that are not covered through other social programs or provincial health insurance. This position has a primary focus on coordinating (with First Nation travel clerks) client medical transportation to access medically required health services not available on reserve or community of residence. The Health Benefits Coordinator also monitors and assists clients in accessing benefits related to: dental care, vision care, mental health counselling, medical supplies and equipment, prescriptions and over the counter medications.

Director of Fisheries

The Director of Fisheries collaborates with 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations to achieve a wide variety of fisheries-related goals, objectives, and strategic vision to advance the fisheries interests of Nuu-chah-nulth Nations. As a leader, the Director of Fisheries will influence the development and implementation of resource management strategies. This position is accountable for the overall management of the NTC Fisheries Program (Uu-a-thluk), including policies, technical support, field oversight, administers contracts and fisheries agreements; and reports to the NTC Executive, Directors, Ha’wiih, Nations and their members.
