Practice Manager

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Usma Family & Child Services (F&CS) is seeking a full-time, permanent Practice Manager based in Port Alberni, BC. Reporting to the Director of Usma F&CS, this role is designed to ensure culturally safe, client-centered and effective service delivery within Usma F&CS. The Practice Manager collaborates with the Director to provide supervision of the Usma F&CS leadership team and provides interim day-to-day operational coverage in the absence of the Director, as delegated.

Harm Reduction Outreach Worker

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council’s Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a term (to March 31, 2027), full-time Harm Reduction Outreach Worker to provide culturally based support to all Nuu-chah-nulth Region individuals, families, and communities, with an emphasis of providing support to First Nations people involved in high-risk lifestyles. This position will communicate with various service providers and coordinate activities to support wellness and healing within a culturally safe framework. This position will work evenings and weekends and provide outreach support to Nuu-chah-nulth clients away from home as well as in community. This position is based out of Port Alberni and will require travel to Nuu-chah-nulth territories along the coast of Vancouver Island (including by vehicle on gravel road, by boat, float plane and helicopter). This position operates on a 4-on, 3-off shift rotation. Daily scheduled hours are 9.75, inclusive of a one-hour meal break. Shifts will incorporate one weekend day, with possible schedules being Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday.

Manager of Teechuktl (Mental Health) Backfill

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a qualified Manager of Teechuktl (Mental Health) Services. Based out of Port Alberni, this term (backfill September 2025 to February 2026), full-time position will provide leadership and management expertise to effectively support the delivery of NTC’s mental health and wellness programs to ensures the needs of Nuu-chah-nulth children, youth and adults are being supported. Reasonable relocation allowance will be provided for the successful candidate.

Resolution Health Support Worker (Port Alberni)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a term (to March 31, 2026), full-time Resolution Health Support Worker to provide cultural and emotional support to residential school survivors and their families. This position also provides support completing Day Scholar and Indian Day School applications in community, and in urban settings. This position is based out of Port Alberni, and requires travel (including on gravel road, by boat, airplane and helicopter) into Southern and Northern Region communities.

Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor (Campbell River)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC), Teechuktl (Mental Health) Program is seeking a permanent, full-time Teechuktl Clinical Counsellor to provide individual counselling for individuals or families in NTC’s Northern Regions. Based out of Campbell River, this position would best suit someone who can provide counselling services that promotes individual and community wellness through a balance of Quu’asa (First Nation people) values and trauma-based clinical methods. This position requires travel into Zeballos and Gold River Communities including on gravel road, by boat, float plane and helicopter.

Home Care Licensed Practical Nurse

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide a full continuum of Community Home care Nursing services to individuals in a variety of community-based settings in Port Alberni. Our Nursing services follow the Nuu-chah-nulth Nursing framework that ensures culturally safe, relational, reflective and trauma informed Nursing Practice. This position is based out of Port Alberni. Travel is by vehicle (Logging gravel road), helicopter, floatplane and boat.

C6 Social Worker (Child Protection)

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) Usma Family and Child Services is seeking two (2) experienced, C6 delegated Social Workers to fill permanent, full-time positions. Based out of Port Alberni BC, these positions will have full C6 caseload responsibilities. Travel (by vehicle, boat, and airplane, depending on caseload) is required for this position. Usma Nuu-chah-nulth Family and Child Services works on the traditional and unceded territories of the 14 Nuu-chah-nulth Nations, supporting and collaborating with community to develop appropriate responses to child safety concerns and build upon community support services.

Travel to remote communities (Mowachaht-Muchalaht First Nations two days a week and Zeballos two days a week) with an overnight stay in community is required.
