Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council Statement on the Shootings at Tumbler Ridge, BC

Today, the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council, our member Nations and peoples all send our deepest heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and community for the lives lost, for the injured ones and all those that suffered in any way through the horrific shootings at the secondary school in Tumbler Ridge.

President Judith Sayers says “To all those people so heavily impacted, we say you are not alone. We stand with you, we pray for you. we mourn with you and we share the burden with you. We will help in any way we can in your healing journey”

Vice President Les Doiron states “We send our deepest sympathies, our prayers and good energy your way. You are in our thoughts this day and through the years ahead as you deal with the aftermath of this shocking event. We stand in unity with you.”

President Sayers added “community safety is and always will be a priority for everyone and we encourage everyone to be involved in achieving this.
